Syrah Port 2007 (375ml)

Vineyards

This wine made in the Port style is a blend of three of our top Lake County Syrah Vineyards. The largest component comes from Lyon vineyard, which is located at the base of Mt. Konocti, with a smattering of Dorn and Cana Springs vineyards to balance out the fruit. 

Winemaking

With harvest at 27.6 Brix, we fermented this wine until about 7% residual sugar and then added high proof spirits to arrest the fermentation. We then let the port age in a combination of American and French oak barrels for 24 months and into the bottle it went.

Food

This port is the perfect dessert wine for the chocolate lover. On its own or paired with the most decadent dark chocolate cake or a combination of blue cheese and walnuts, this Port is just lovely.
